Road Rescue Offers Market-Responsive Ambulances

MARION, S.C., April 27 -- Road Rescue will introduce its new market-responsive ambulances during FDIC, the industry's largest fire-rescue conference and trade show.

The Marion, South Carolina-based maker of custom ambulances and rescue vehicles will display three new market responsive units, or MRUs, featuring a standard design and option package. These new units are designed to replace ambulances that have been damaged in an accident and need to be replaced quickly.

Vehicles from Road Rescue, which is a subsidiary of Charlotte, Michigan- based Spartan Motors, Inc. , can be viewed at Booth 2549 during the three-day show, which begins today.

"Each year, there are more than 6,500 accidents that involve an ambulance and can effectively take that vehicle out of service," said Randy Knors, president of Road Rescue. "To order and replace a vehicle can often take months -- a time frame that is out of the question for many fire departments and ambulance services.

"Road Rescue is pleased to introduce our new MRUs, which offer many of the same features and benefits found in our custom products. We feel there is a tremendous need in the market for a mid- to high-end ambulance that can meet the immediate demands of an emergency-rescue provider without sacrificing quality."

Road Rescue will display Ultramedic(TM) ambulances as part of its new market-responsive product line. Each vehicle will feature a standard option package, and can be ordered and delivered on very short notice. Standard features include:

  * Front and rear LED light bars
  * Aglon-coated stainless steel assist rails
  *  Avonite synthetic stone countertops

"Our market-responsive vehicles offer the same safety, endurance and road performance characteristics that go into each Road Rescue ambulance," Knors said. "We look forward to introducing a line of high-quality replacement vehicles at an affordable price."
