Nissan North America Sponsors Scholarship Fundraiser for Students and Teachers

IRVING, Texas--April 25, 2006--Nissan North America's $10,000 donation to the Irving Schools Foundation made the company this year's Constellation (Title) Sponsor for the Foundation's 19th Annual Breakfast With The Stars. The Breakfast is the Foundation's primary fundraiser helping to raise scholarship money for students and teachers in the Irving School District.

"A donation to the Irving Schools Foundation is a great investment in the future," said Steve Lambert, President of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, Nissan's finance division. "The recipients of these scholarships have high hopes for their future and it makes us feel good knowing their future will be brighter thanks to this donation."

More than 525 people attended this year's Breakfast witnessing over 75 scholarships being awarded to graduating seniors. The fundraiser also brought in almost $150,000 for the Foundation and new scholarship endowments.

"The involvement of Nissan North America at the Breakfast With The Stars event allows the Irving Schools Foundation to recognize these most accomplished students and to affirm their dreams of attending college," said Elizabeth Philipp, executive director of the Irving Schools Foundation. "Many of these students have overcome difficult situations yet remain determined, optimistic, and dedicated to achieving their college goals."

The Irving Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for teachers and students to excel through grants and scholarships promoting educational excellence. Since its inception in 1985, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in teacher grants and student scholarships. Current foundation programs include grants-to-teachers, enrichment grants, scholarships, motivational scholarships, excellence awards, grants for professional growth for site administrators, and school site grants.
