AUI Contractors Wins 2006 Summit Award From QUOIN Chapter of American General Contractors

FORT WORTH, Texas--April 25, 2006--AUI Contractors recently received first place in the 2006 Summit Awards competition for its City of Murphy, Texas, entry in the traditional construction in Category D for projects valued at between $10 million and $30 million. AUI also received a merit award Category DB3 for its work on the Dallas Intermodal Terminal owned by Union Pacific Railroad.

The Summit Awards Program was sponsored by QUOIN, a chapter of American General Contractors based in Dallas-Fort Worth. All first place winners now advance to a statewide awards competition sponsored by AGC.

AUI's work for the City of Murphy was valued at about $17 million and encompassed a municipal complex built on 27 acres of land that included four buildings with about 100,000 of total square feet: City Hall, Police and Courts Building, Fire and Rescue, and Public Works. Construction began in November 2003 and was completed in April 2005. The Union Pacific project was valued at about $77 million and was completed in 2005 on a 365-acre tract of land located 12 miles south of downtown Dallas on Interstate 45 within the city limits of Hutchins and Wilmer, Texas.

Accepting the Summit Award for AUI were Tony Rader, Sam Hanson, Ross Loughmiller, and Jennifer Collins. Also present to receive this award was Gary Roden, an architect with Aguirre Corporation who worked with AUI on the City of Murphy Project.

"Winning a 2006 Summit Award is significant for AUI Contractors in that we are being recognized by our peers for quality in construction. We've passed muster among a panel of five or more tough judges who know the construction business inside out," commented Tony Rader, AUI's Construction Group manager.
