MTI to Speak at Two Upcoming Financial Conferences

ALBANY, N.Y., April 25 -- Dr. William P. Acker, Chief Executive Officer of MTI MicroFuel Cells (MTI Micro), the developer of the award-winning Mobion(R) micro fuel cell technology and a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Incorporated , is scheduled to present a corporate overview to the investment community at two upcoming investor conferences.

Dr. Acker will present at the Merriman Curhan Ford & Co. Next-Generation Energy Conference at the Essex House Hotel, New York, N.Y. on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 3:15 p.m. (EDT). The Next-Generation Energy Conference will provide those attending an opportunity to listen to CEOs from leading alternative energy companies discuss how they are commercializing alternative energy technologies.

Dr. Acker will also present at the Jeffries & Co. Alternative Energy and Cleantech Conference at the St. Regis Hotel, New York, N.Y. on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 10:l5 a.m. (EDT). The one-day event highlights many of the leading companies who are addressing today's critical energy supply, security issues and environmental concerns.
