GEICO Honors Corporate Quality Award Winners for Their Outstanding Innovations

WASHINGTON, April 24 -- GEICO today honored the winners of the company's 13th annual Corporate Quality Awards for achieving outstanding results and success with their work-related innovations. The award celebrates associates in seven categories, along with two special Chairman's Awards.

GEICO associates who have gone above and beyond normal job responsibilities or expectations for performance are:

  *  Janica Fagan of Spotsylvania County, Va., a project analyst at the
     company national print mail center, for her work on the automated print
     solution in the category of Leadership.

  *  David Bennett of Plano, Texas, a regional claims manager for the Dallas
     area, for his work on the third party advertising insert in the
     category of Innovation or Noteworthy IQ.

  *  Beth Hodermarsky of Arlington, Va., a research analyst in underwriting,
     and Patty Childs of Stafford, Va., a lead application systems analyst
     in the systems department, for their work on the "5 Minute Quote" for
     the Economic Value category.

  *  Christiana Bradley of Fredericksburg, Va., a senior programming analyst
     in the MOAT department, and John Wood of Milford, Va., an analyst in
     MOAT, for their work on homeowner's integration.

  *  Cindy Bynum of Reston, Va., a service performance manager in staff
     development, and Michelle Scotton of Chevy Chase Md., a corporate
     service training manager in staff development, for their work on the
     service call mapping team in the category of Business Excellence.

  *  Nicole Van Gilder of Washington, D.C., a senior applications systems
     analyst in the systems department, and Tori Southern, of Virginia
     Beach, Va., a regional quality administrator in the motorcycle
     department, for their work on the e-signature project for the Make it
     Easy Team.

  *  Eric Oram of Fort Worth, Texas, an inside supervisor in the special
     investigations unit, and Ken Pope, of Dallas, Texas, an investigator in
     the special investigations unit, for their work on the FIND database in
     the Make it Easy Individual category.

           In addition:

  *  James Thomas, of St. Louis, Mo., a field manager in the auto damage
     claims department, and the Macon auto damage department won a
     Chairman's Award for their exceptional service to customers throughout
     the events of Hurricane Katrina.

  *  Greg Santini of Valrico, Fla., a claims service representatives manager
     in the claims department, and the Lakeland claims service
     representatives department won a Chairman's Award for their superior
     service to GEICO policyholders during Hurricane Wilma.

To celebrate their accomplishments, GEICO invited the winners to Washington, D.C. for a weekend of special events in their honor. The weekend will be capped off by a breakfast today with GEICO Chairman Tony Nicely, and an awards celebration at GEICO headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.
