AAA Employee Honored for Volunteer Activities

DEARBORN, Mich., April 19 -- Lansing resident Bill McCullough has been named "AAA Ambassador Volunteer of the Year" for his participation in AAA Michigan community outreach activities during 2005.

McCullough will be presented with the Auto Club's top volunteer award Friday, April 28 at the AAA Michigan Administrative Office Building in Dearborn. President and COO Linda M. Woolwine will present the award during a special ceremony at 1 p.m.

"Employee volunteerism is an honored tradition at AAA Michigan," said Woolwine. "The Auto Club has consistently taken a leadership role to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Bill, who best exemplifies the spirit of 'AAA Giving' for our entire organization."

During 2005, McCullough was actively involved in a wide variety of community events conducted in the Lansing area. These include:

  *  Safety Day at AAA (child passenger inspections, VIN etching, etc.)
  *  Police Information Day
  *  Great Pretenders non-alcoholic drinks served
  *  NASCAR and safety display
  *  Be A Tourist In Your Town
  *  Sparrow Hospital child passenger safety inspection
  *  Delta Township Fire Department child passenger safety inspection
  *  Bus safety programs at local elementary schools
  *  Seat belt surveys at local high schools
  *  Youth hockey coach, Okemos High School
  *  Adopt-a-Family Program
