Michigan Student Auto Technicians Prepare to 'Start Their Engines'
WHAT: Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Michigan Competition WHEN: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 / 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. WHERE: Macomb Community College Expo Center 14500 East Twelve Mile Road Warren, Mich.
WHO: Teams of two students each from 10 Michigan high schools will compete to be first to diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical "bugs" deliberately placed on new Ford automobiles by Ford engineers.
The winning team will receive more than $20,000 in scholarships and automotive merchandise. The winning team will represent Michigan in the 2006 Ford/AAA Auto Skills National Finals Contest on June 27 -- this year being held in Dearborn, Mich. -- the birthplace of the American auto industry.
