BMW 5 and 7 Series to be official cars for the 11th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice
Bangkok, Thailand - April 17, 2006: BMW Group Thailand announced today that the company will provide a fleet of 25 BMW cars to be used as official shuttles for high-ranking delegates participating in the 11th United Nation Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Conference, hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Justice during April 18-25 in Bangkok.
The fleet inludes twenty 5 Series vehicles and five 7 Series cars. The company said that this is part of the company’s support to the Thai government’s activities in international conferences.
Dr. Frank Roesler, the President of BMW Group Thailand, stated that: “BMW cars have been well known as the official cars for leaders and ministerial level of delegates in international conferences. With executive cars like the 5 Series and the flagship 7 Series, shuttling high-ranking delegates during their entire stay, we are convinced that the host of this important conference, the Ministry of Justice, provides the best possible transportation for delegates in this crucial United Nation conference.”
In addition to providing this support, BMW Group Thailand has constantly been the official shuttle provider for several international conferences hosted by the Thai government during the last years. In 2003, the company provided over 150 units of the 7 Series for the APEC ministerial meetings and the APEC Summit. Last year, the company provided a fleet of 7 Series for the Bio-Fuel Conference in August, hosted by the Ministry of Energy and also the CITES and IUCN meetings hosted by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in November.
