Mitsubishi Motors Sets up R&D Center in China
Tokyo, Apr 14, 2006; Aki Tsukioka writing for JCN reported that Mitsubishi Motors is commissioning a research and development center in mainland China as its wholly owned subsidiary.
Capitalized at 30 million yen (US $254,000), Lingfa Car Technical Consulting (Shanghai) will be Mitsubishi's third R&D unit outside Japan.
The new R&D center will concentrate on providing quality assurance of locally produced components and speedy customer service. With the planned addition of research facilities, the R&D center will be able to support the development of Mitsubishi brand vehicles and the operations of local companies in which Mitsubishi holds equity stakes.
