MAZDASPEED Motorsports Announces USERA Contingency Programs
DANVILLE, VA. (April 14, 2006) - MAZDASPEED Motorsports announced today that USERA Spec Miata Endurance Championship teams will be recognized in the Mazda Team Support Program for 2006. Mazda also announced they will be offering an additional $12,000 to enhance the USERA race and Championship prize awards.
"We are very pleased with today's announcement," said USERA President, Ken Grammer. "MAZDASPEED has been providing great support to Miata racers through their Team Support Program and we are excited to add MAZDASPEED's name to the growing list of companies supporting the USERA Championship."
USERA Teams who join MAZDASPEED's Team Support Program will be eligible for benefits that include special pricing on Miata competition parts.
The separate $12,000 contingency funding will be divided in to a per-race award and a season Team Championship award. $3,000 of the fund will be awarded as two $250 special prize drawings for each race. The remaining $9,000 will be allocated to the year-end Team Championship award fund.
"The formation of the new USERA endurance series for Spec Miata is another strong indication of the immense popularity of the class.
