THUNDER VALLEY RACEWAY JOINS 2006 INDIANA DIRT LATE MODEL SPEEDWEEK

April 14, 2006 - The Thunder Valley Raceway has joined the Indiana Dirt Late Model Speedweek. Located at the Washington County 4H Fairgrounds in Salem, Indiana, Thunder Valley Raceway will host all of the excitement of the Northern Allstars Late Model racers for the 2006 Speedweek opening event.

Indiana Dirt Late Model Speedweek is now five consecutive nights of racing beginning Tuesday, May 9, at Thunder Valley Raceway's quarter mile. The Allstars will have a short ride on Wednesday, May 10, to Twin Cities Raceway Park, in North Vernon. On Thursday, May 11, the racers head south, to Lawrenceburg Speedway, on the Ohio River. Then, Friday, May 12, the Northern Allstars will get dirty at Bloomington Speedway. On Saturday, May 13, the Brownstown Speedway at the Jackson County Fairgrounds hosts the grand finale.

The 30-lap Speedweek features will pay $2,500 to win and $300 to start. The purse for each program adds up to $12,225. The point fund, sponsored by UMP and Hoosier Tires, will award $2,000 to the Speedweek champion, with second through fifth earning $1,000, $600, $300 and $200. Additionally, Oval Craft will present the Speedweek champion a new level 2 driver's seat, valued over $380.
