Midtronics, Inc. Licenses Patented inGEN(R) Technology to Lear Corporation

WILLOWBROOK, Ill.--April 13, 2006--Midtronics, Inc. and Lear Corporation, Lear Automotive (EEDS) Spain, S.L. have signed a license agreement that will integrate Midtronics' patented inGEN(R) technology into Lear's newly announced Battery Monitoring System (BMS) product.

inGEN technology is described by Midtronics as a technically superior embedded battery monitoring system that helps manage electrical storage power and support the high demands of electrical applications in today's new vehicles. inGEN technology helps prolong battery life, predicts the battery's ability to support an application, warns of pending failures, and improves fuel economy. This patented technology utilizes battery conductance, together with current, voltage and temperature to continually monitor the battery, providing state-of-the-art measurement and diagnostic capability.

"We are proud to be collaborating with one of the world's leading suppliers of automotive systems to accelerate the evolution of integrated battery monitoring systems," said Steve McShane, President and CEO of Midtronics, Inc. "We look forward to bringing together the best of Midtronics' technology and Lear's extensive reach and technical competence in the automotive industry to deliver leading-edge original equipment products."

The license agreement applies to all European automobile brands. Specific terms of the agreement are confidential.
