Seattle Cruise Ship Passengers Have Streamlined Access to Rental Cars at New Dockside Terminal Locations Through Thrifty Car Rentals
SEATTLE--April 12, 2006--Added convenience for growing number of cruise ships passengers extending their stay in Seattle area |
Cruise ship passengers arriving or departing through Seattle during the 2006 cruise season now have a convenient, on-the spot resource for rental cars through Thrifty Car Rental.
Through an exclusive arrangement with the Port of Seattle's cruise ship terminal operator, Thrifty will operate rental counters at Seattle's two cruise ship terminals located at Pier 30 and Pier 66. With the completion of the rental paperwork upon disembarking, rental customers take a short shuttle ride to Thrifty's auto rental center at Pier 48 for the pick-up of their vehicle.
For added convenience, rentals from these two locations may be returned to Thrifty's Sea-Tac Airport location with no added drop charge.
Conversely, for passengers arriving through Sea-Tac International Airport, Thrifty also waives drop charges for renting at their airport location and dropping off their vehicle at Pier 48. Thrifty also provides those passengers with a complimentary shuttle to their cruise ship terminal.
"With over 200 cruise ship arrivals and departures scheduled for Seattle during the 2006 cruise season, the introduction of the dock-side terminals is a logical next step in providing customers with a new level of service and convenience," said Sandy Sidell, director of sales and marketing for Thrifty Car Rental in Washington and Oregon. "We know the number of pre and post cruise stays is on the rise. Renting a car gives visitors the flexibility that they don't have with a taxi or shuttle service."
Thrifty Car Rental's downtown Seattle location on the central waterfront at Pier 48 is located at 101 Alaskan Way. For more information, call Thrifty in Seattle at (206) 878-1234; for reservations visit www.thrifty.com or call (1-800-THRIFTY).
