Tanner Health System Signs with Thomas, Thomas & Walsh
ATLANTA--April 12, 2006--Thomas, Thomas & Walsh, Inc. (TT&W), a leading healthcare eligibility services company, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Tanner Health System to provide Medicaid/SSI disability eligibility services. Healthcare delivery organizations typically lose considerable sums of money as a result of caring for self-pay and uninsured patients, many of whom are eligible for the Medicaid program. TT&W will provide Tanner with the critical services that identify, contact and help these Medicaid-eligible patients apply for and obtain approvals."If we can identify these individuals who are eligible and assist them in obtaining Medicaid approvals, it not only keeps our hospitals from losing money, it helps the person attain other healthcare services as well," said Lee Sherseth, chief financial officer for Tanner Health System. "Because we are a non-profit health system, any profit that is made is put directly back into services for the community. So, it's definitely a win-win situation for everyone involved."
TT&W markets its Medicaid eligibility services under the HealthAid(TM) brand name. HealthAid is a unique, patient-friendly, personalized approach designed to accept and approve more accounts that otherwise would not be paid. Through HealthAid, TT&W caseworkers help applicants navigate all aspects of a complex eligibility process, from initiating Medicaid and Social Security applications, to preparing appeals up to hearing level, if necessary.
