FlexNet Sales Gain Momentum; Customers Embrace Apriso's Adaptive Platform; Apriso Signs 10 Customers in Strategic Markets

LONG BEACH, Calif.--April 11, 2006--Ten manufacturing organizations have selected FlexNet(R) from Apriso(R) Corporation in recent months, the company announced today. The customer contracts came quickly on the heels of Apriso's November 2005 release of FlexNet 9.3, the manufacturing industry's first adaptive operations execution platform.

Apriso attributes the sales momentum to FlexNet's ability to help manufacturers operate profitably amid new pressures they face on the plant floor and throughout their extended enterprises - pressures that eat into profits and hinder productivity.

"Manufacturers are challenged from every direction with corporate and regulatory mandates, razor-thin margins and the increasing cost of energy and raw materials," said Greg Gorbach, vice president, collaborative manufacturing, ARC Advisory Group. "To remain competitive, organizations need a comprehensive operations platform that synchronizes activity throughout their operations - not a collection of disparate solutions. FlexNet provides the agility needed to adapt to changing business drivers, allowing manufacturers to execute and deliver better, faster and cheaper than their competitors can."

Each a leader in their industry, the new customers span such markets as automotive, aerospace & defense, mill products and electronics. They include:

-- Volvo CE, the construction equipment division of Volvo Group, a world-leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles, buses and construction equipment;

-- BenQ, maker of mobile phones, displays, notebook computers and peripherals;

-- ST Microelectronics, manufacturer of semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs) and discrete devices (in partnership with CapGemini);

-- Aerospace firm MBDA, a subsidiary of Airbus manufacturer EADS;

-- France-based Ugitech, a leading producer of bars, wire rod, wires, and rebar in stainless steels and Ni-base alloys (in partnership with CapGemini);

-- FounderTech, China's leading producer of personal computers.

RFID (radio frequency identification) deployment has been an important growth market for Apriso. The company's implementation partner, Xterprise, has combined FlexNet's built-in features and functions with its own SOA-based, RFID-enhanced supply chain applications. The resulting solutions seamlessly integrate with RFID infrastructure and existing enterprise systems in real-time, automatically recording, tracking, and executing RFID-enabled processes on serialized pallets, containers and individual items. Xterprise FlexNet RFID agreements with four customers in the fourth quarter of 2005:

-- Asian deployment of a cold chain application for a provider of products, systems and third-party logistics services for clinical laboratories;

-- U.S. deployment for a global third-party logistics provider, who will use the system to manage distribution for a market-leading global manufacturer of business computers, mobile devices and peripherals;

-- A U.S. deployment for one of Wal-Mart's largest beverage suppliers;

-- Asia and European deployment for a third-party logistics provider, to manage distribution for a globally renowned personal computer vendor.

FlexNet is both an adaptive operations execution platform and a modular suite of applications in a single solution. Built on a unified data model, the software tightly synchronizes activity in all areas of a manufacturer's operations, in real time. FlexNet uniquely delivers a solution that covers manufacturing execution, quality management, computerized maintenance management, warehouse management, time & labor, and supply chain visibility.

The solution is based on a true Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), making it ideal for activity that lies between the ERP layer and the plant floor, and is the only BPM solution targeted at mission-critical manufacturing processes.

Built to be ERP-centric, FlexNet adds robust functionality to a manufacturer's ERP system through operations execution on the shop floor, where it's needed most. Apriso is one of SAP's closest development partners in manufacturing. In December 2005, Apriso achieved Powered by SAP NetWeaver for Industry Standards status, one of only a few vendors to do so.
