SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. & CALGARY, Alberta--April 10, 2006--Quorum's North American GM Dealership Customers to Benefit from Retail Inventory Management (RIM) Integration |
Cyclone Commerce and Axway (BOURSE:SOP), which are integrating operations following their merger, today announced with Quorum Information Technologies, Inc. (TSX VENTURE:QIS), that through the use of Cyclone's Activator product, Quorum has successfully passed the General Motors Corporation (GM) Retail Inventory Management (RIM) certification process and is now in general release. The RIM system enables GM to respond instantly to consumer demands, based on real-time perspectives on inventory turns, stock levels, purchasing trends and more.
Within two weeks after the official agreement was signed, the Cyclone/Quorum system was already being piloted at GM dealerships, and now main-stream roll-out to all of Quorum's GM dealership customers can begin. "The short time-to-deployment of this integrated RIM solution speaks to both the power and simplicity of the solutions that Cyclone and Quorum provide to both GM and GM branded dealerships," said Ken Fritz, Vice President at Cyclone Commerce.
"We're building tomorrow's platform for today's GM dealer network," said Maury Marks, president and CEO of Quorum Information Technologies. "Through this partnership between Quorum and Cyclone, GM and its Dealers will leverage a modern infrastructure and transport protocol upon which its strategic RIM system will be deployed; all communications will take place safely, reliably and efficiently."
"We are very excited to play such a significant role in the technology innovation of an American automotive icon," concluded Fritz. "The combination of Cyclone's Activator product with Quorum's XSELLERATOR(TM) dealership management software will allow GM and its dealers to 'put the pedal to the metal' in coming years."
