Saleen to Honor American Racing Legend Parnelli Jones with New, Limited Edition Mustang

370-Horsepower Mustang Debuts at New York Auto Show on April 13

Saleen, a leading manufacturer in the specialty car arena, will be paying homage to American racing icon Parnelli Jones at this week's New York Auto Show. Saleen President Steve Saleen and Jones will be on hand Thursday, April 13 to unveil the 370 horsepower Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang.

Jones is one of the most recognizable names in auto racing and has won nearly every major auto race event in the U.S., including the Indianapolis 500. During his legendary career, Jones won six races and 12 pole positions in Indycar racing. Among those victories was a win at the Indianapolis 500 in 1963, just two years after he was named Indy's co-Rookie of the Year. The ever versatile Jones also won the 1964 USAC stock car championship, and claimed four wins, 11 top-10 finishes, and three pole positions in 34 races on the NASCAR circuit. He also won titles in the SCCA Trans Am Series and Baja off-road racing circuit. Jones was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1990.
