The Lake County Captains are a minor league baseball team in Eastlake, Ohio owned by Peter Carfagna and his wife, Rita. The team is a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and plays in the South Atlantic League.

Prior to the 2003 season, the club was based in Columbus, Georgia and known as the Columbus RedStixx. The Captains play their home games in Classic Park, which has a capacity of 7,273 and opened in 2003 as Eastlake Stadium. The current stadium name is the result of the naming rights arrangement with sponsor, Classic Automotive Group, a major area chain of auto dealerships.

In 2005 the team, under new manager Mike Sarbaugh, finished just 2 games out in the first half, after challenging until the final game. Watch for Argenis Reyes, Fernando Pacheco, Chris Gimenez, Brian Finegan, Tony Sipp and Closer, Kieran Mattison, (with 24 saves) to hit the Majors in upcoming years.

Along with fun and stats, the Lake County Captains are committed to the community through Captains Charities. The Vision of Captains Charities, Inc. is the development of a broadly supported and actively involved charitable organization devoted to enhancing the quality of life for children, the disabled, the elderly and retired residents in our communities.

Peter is a native Clevelander, served as Chief Legal Officer for IMG from 1994 to 2005 when he joined Calfee Halter & Griswold. He is very generous with his volunteer time supporting innumerable organizations throughout the Northeast Ohio community including his recent election as Co-Chair of the Lake County United Way, chair of the Diocese of Cleveland Finance Council as well as serving on the Worldwide Harvard Alumni Association's executive committee.

Peter earned his BA from Harvard College, MA from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and his JD from Harvard Law.
