Polypore, Inc. Takes Action to Improve Environmental Performance in Daramic Production Facility

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 6 -- Daramic, LLC, Polypore, Inc.'s automotive and industrial battery membrane separator business, announced recent investments to improve environmental performance at its production facility in Corydon, Indiana. These investments, which include enhanced filtration and measurement equipment, are part of a recent settlement with EPA regarding alleged air emission violations that occurred between September 1999 and December 2004.

"The new equipment in Corydon will reduce emissions, decrease waste generation from filter replacement, and further enhance plant hygiene," says Pierre Hauswald, Vice President and General Manager, Daramic. "This investment aligns with our commitment to collaborating closely with EPA and complying with all environmental legislation and regulations. It also demonstrates our overall focus on continuous improvement and on operating responsibly in our communities. Additionally, we expect all employees to be actively involved in preventative methods and to reduce potential environmental risks."
