Text 100 Selected as The MathWorks International PR Agency

Technical Computing Software Leader Taps Agency to Expand Its Global Reach

BOSTON, April 6 -- Text 100 Public Relations today announced that The MathWorks, the developer of MATLAB and Simulink software for technical computing and Model-Based Design, has joined the agency's client roster in six markets spanning North America and Europe.

Text 100 has been selected to help The MathWorks increase global visibility for its MATLAB and Simulink software products, which are used by more than one million engineers and scientists in over 150 countries. The MathWorks products are widely used to accelerate the pace of innovation in industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, and education.

"Over the past 20 years, The MathWorks software has become ubiquitous among engineers involved in many of the world's most innovative development initiatives, as far away as the Mars Exploration Rover Mission and as close to home as the control systems in your own car," said Dave Smith, Public Relations Director, The MathWorks. "We searched for a global PR agency that could deliver our message in markets around the world. We chose Text 100 because of its knowledge in the advanced technology market, relationships with the editorial and analyst communities, proven track record managing and executing global PR programs, and its strategic capabilities."

Text 100 will represent The MathWorks from its wholly-owned offices in the United States, France, Germany (serving both the Germany and Switzerland markets), the United Kingdom and Sweden. The Text 100 Boston office will serve as the worldwide hub of the account, close to The MathWorks worldwide headquarters in Natick, Mass.

The agency will focus on strategic campaigns aimed at expanding The MathWorks influencer ecosystem and driving thought leadership among the engineering and scientific community.

"Deep technical expertise has long been a key differentiator for Text 100," said Aedhmar Hynes, Text 100 CEO. "Our client roster is exclusively comprised of clients using technology for a competitive advantage, and as a result, we consistently attract and retain the best and brightest who all share the same passion for technology. The MathWorks choosing Text 100 validates our commitment to technology expertise and reinforces the importance of taking a truly global, consistent approach to communications."

Text 100 was selected following an extensive competitive global search, the final round consisting of dual pitches in the United States and Europe. The MathWorks has been a client of Text 100 in Sweden since 2003.
