Bluetooth Innovator of Automotive Products Expands to Home and Office
LAS VEGAS--April 5, 2006--Since the company's inception 12 years ago, Parrot has focused on hands-free automotive applications of Bluetooth(R) technology. After all, most people have a car and a cell phone, and consumers spend considerable time using both. With the launch of three new products at CTIA (April 5-7 in Las Vegas) Parrot is expanding to make life simpler via Bluetooth and mobile phones at home and at work as well as in vehicles.
The Parrot PHOTO VIEWER allows you to free your photos from your Bluetooth camera phone and transfer them instantly, easily and wirelessly to a digital photo frame. Simply select the Parrot PHOTO VIEWER from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone or computer. Then select the picture you want to display and send it to the frame via Bluetooth. The picture is instantly converted to the size of the screen (2.75" and 2") and can be used in either portrait or landscape position.
"Parrot has established itself as a leader with development of 'firsts' ... first in the world with a Bluetooth car kit, then first in the world with a Plug & Play Bluetooth car kit, and now first in the world with a Bluetooth PHOTO VIEWER and Bluetooth SOUND SYSTEM. 2006 is poised to be a banner year for Parrot as more consumers consider Bluetooth(R) technology ready for prime time. Parrot is becoming known as the company that puts Bluetooth in your life," said Edward Valdez, president and chief operating officer of Parrot, Inc.
THE Parrot SOUND SYSTEM is a revolutionary new way to enjoy the full Hi-fi stereo sound of your MP3 files with wireless freedom and without headphones! Comprised of two speakers with integrated Class-D digital amplifiers, the Parrot SOUND SYSTEM is designed to work with every type of A2DP Bluetooth source: mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, and Bluetooth-equipped PC and Mac computers. An analog connection (LINE IN) can also be used to make it compatible with traditional CD players, stereo systems, and the computer's analog output.
Music is transferred between the two speakers by Bluetooth technology: just place one speaker on one side of the room, and the other speaker wherever desired within 10 meters (about thirty feet), pair the music source with the Parrot SOUND SYSTEM to listen to your favorite tunes. A mini keypad allows you to adjust the volume on each speaker, the instructions are then automatically sent via Bluetooth to the other speaker. The Parrot SOUND SYSTEM (MSRP $449) features Parrot 5 chipsets and benefits from a contemporary design. All electronic components are housed in a white hand-lacquered cabinet. A fabric speaker cover, held in place by magnets, can be removed to provide access to the drivers.
True to its roots in the automotive industry, Parrot is launching the first Bluetooth headset designed specifically for in-vehicle use. The Parrot DRIVER HEADSET is a Plug & Play solution that rests in your vehicle's cigarette lighter and accessory plug. While cradled, it stays fully charged, and beeps to alert you of incoming calls. Simply pick up the headset, place on it your ear and you're ready to talk for hands-free, discreet phone calls. Leave it in the car and never have to worry about battery strength. At MSRP of $99 it assures that your headset will be loaded at peak battery capacity when you need to use it.
The Parrot PHOTO VIEWER, Parrot SOUND SYSTEM and Parrot DRIVER HEADSET are the latest additions to Parrot's Bluetooth portfolio. Other products include the Parrot 3400 LS-GPS (award winning car kit with GPS antenna and color LCD for Photo Caller ID), PARROT 3200 LS-COLOR (with color LCD for Photo Caller ID), RHYTHM N' BLUE (AM/FM/CD/MP3 auto stereo receiver with integrated Bluetooth phone function) EASY-DRIVE (Plug & Play), CK3000 EVOLUTION (with trimline keypad), CK3100 (with LCD), CK3300 GPS (with GPS antenna).
