Dexter  Bean, BlackJack Racing Gives It Their All In Rockford

LOVES  PARK,  Illinois  (April 5, 2006) - - Rockford  Speedway has kicked off 
their racing season with a bang!  Opening weekend began by welcoming the  
Wisconsin Challenge Series (WCS) to their racetrack.  However, 2006 embraced a 
new twist. This  was the first time that the WCS ventured out of state.   
Although  this was the first experience for the WCS, this was not the first 
appearance for  Dexter Bean at this racetrack.  Dexter has prior experience at 
Rockford Speedway and was looking forward  to racing around the steep incline 
of this quarter-mile  track. 
Dexter  was strong in practice and felt that he had a real good chance of 
finishing on  the point. During time trials Dexter qualified ninth out of 44 
cars, speeding  around the track with a fast time of 13.355 seconds. 
The  weekend showed great potential for Dexter and BlackJack Racing. Dexter 
was back  behind the wheel of his familiar No. 25 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, with 
colorful backing from long  time marketing partner Five Star Telecom.  
Dexter  was looking to dominate this 150-lap competition, but was unable to 
show his  true talent due to some mechanical errors on lap 15. Before the 
unfortunate  mechanical troubles, Dexter was running strong in fourth place. The 
entire  BlackJack Racing team was confident that if they could have avoided the  
rare mechanical woes, they had a car capable of running in the top  five. 
"We  had the best car that we have ever had at Rockford,�?? said a dejected 
Dexter following the  race. “We just had some oil problems, that didn't do any 
damage, but we had to  come out of the race to fix it.  Even though we went out, 
we came back  strong and ran with the leaders for the rest of the race.  I  
believe that we would have finished in the top-two if we wouldn't have run into 
 the oil problems,�?? he explained.  
Despite  the frustration, he quickly returned to the race with amazing  
determination.  The end result  wasn’t what Dexter and the BlackJack Team was 
looking for but this race has not  compromised the enthusiasm and determination of 
the team.  Dexter and the team chalk up this race  as a learning experience 
and practice for the upcoming ARCA RE/MAX Series race  at Nashville 
Superspeedway on April 15. The Nashville race will air live on the Speed  Channel 
Saturday, April 15 at 12:30pm.  
After  posting the ninth fastest time overall in the open test session last 
week at  Nashville,  BlackJack Racing is eager to return to the 1.333-mile 
Superspeedway. “We have  every reason to be excited.  The  test went better than 
expected and we were fast!  We’re looking forward to scoring our  first top ten 
finish of the season next weekend,�?? said Bean, who drives the No.  6 
Vote4Dexter.com, Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo in ARCA  competition. 
Although  Dexter’s race schedule is quite busy racing the full ARCA RE/MAX 
Series  schedule, he has devoted a great deal of time to ‘Racin for a Livin.’  
Dexter has been selected out of 1,600  applicants for a soon to be reality 
television program that will award the  winner a chance to compete with the best 
of the best in  NASCAR. 
Racin’  for a Livin’ is a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive seven 
fully  sponsored races in a NASCAR Busch Series car in the 2007 season.  In 
order for the participants to make it  into the next round, fans must vote online 
for their favorite driver.  The Racin’ for a Livin’ site allows  viewers to 
learn more about each candidate and gives them the opportunity to  vote 
according to who they believe is the best driver.  Voting began March 28, 2006 and 
will  continue until July 31st, 2006.  Fans have unlimited voting and are 
encouraged to vote  often.
