Sean Murphy Chosen as Top 50 Finalist for the 'Racin' For A Livin' TV Show
JOLIET, Ill.--April 3, 2006--Open-wheel midget driver from UMARA & USAC, Sean Murphy, has been placed on the ballot for the Racin' for a Livin' reality TV show. Sean was recently chosen to be one of the "Top 50" driver candidates based upon approximately 3000 applicants. Murphy is a past winner of the Bob Tattersall Hard Charger Award and Rich Vogler Memorial Scholarship - both Tattersall and Vogler as icons in midget racing history.As part of Racin' for a Livin', fans will have a chance to vote in 12 finalists online to be a part of the competition, which is slated to land the winner a seven race deal in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007. NASCAR TV Celebrities such as Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds, and Jeff Hammond will be a part of the show as well as former drivers A.J. Foyt, Harry Gant, and Ernie Irvan.
Sean Murphy is a highly seasoned and proven veteran of open-wheel automobile racing, who started at the age of 9 in go-kart racing, and has excelled in midget racing since he began in 1998. With 7 years of midget racing experience, Sean has always been a top-notch and consistent competitor by combining his mechanical engineering background, application of chassis and engine tuning, and established racing skills to become a top contender at every racing event.
The 2006 season plans to be a busy season for Sean Murphy and Murphy Motorsports as they will be participating in a full schedule for the UMARA Midget Series, a host of events in the USAC Midwest Racing Series and also National USAC Midget Series events including Mansfield, OH, Indianapolis, IN and Milwaukee, WI.

On Racin' for a Livin', the fans vote for the top 12 rookies they want to see on the show. This is where the veterans in racing and lifestyles will take over. The rookies will be trained and compete against each other on and off the track. The veterans will then narrow the field down to two finalists.
The final selection of a winner will be done in a two hour special, with each regular season episode presented in a one-hour version. Network television negotiation is in progress, with national prime time exposure for all rookies, win or lose.
