Bloomington Speedway -- April 14 Racing Program

BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENS ON APRIL 14, 2006

WITH WHCC 105.1 NIGHT

BLOOMINGTON, IN (April 2, 2006) - Have you had enough winter yet? Us too! It's time for nice weather and dirt track racing. And, the competitors are even more ready to go racing than we are.

Bloomington Speedway is opening with the three classes that will form the basis for our competition all season. There will be shows over the course of the season where one of the classes won't be running; but they will certainly provide the base on which our racing programs will be built. The facility, as well as the program, will be ready for competition on April 14. The track will be smooth. The rest rooms and concession stands will be clean; and the staff will do everything possible to see that the program keeps moving.

In order to keep the racing program moving and to save the track, as much as possible, for racing, there will be no qualifications. The exception to this change would be special shows such as Indiana Sprint Week.

Last season, Kevin Briscoe came back to win his fourth Bloomington Speedway championship. He'll be back at Bloomington Speedway this season with an opportunity to win a record sprint car championship and a record third straight.. We've all seen how Briscoe can dominate the competition when he's on his game. And he almost always is on top of his game. But, you may rest assured that there are a number of drivers who will be gunning for him. Can they stop him? It's a long shot; but stranger things have happened. Don't miss a single night of the battle for the Bloomington Speedway championship.

Jesse Cramer will be back attempting to win his second straight O'Neal Wood Products modified championship. Cramer was married over the winter. However, this seems to mean that he now has another member for his crew. She seems to be at least as enthusiastic about Jesse's racing as he is. Of course, the modified pits are generally full and there will certainly be a lot of racers intent on stopping Jesse's efforts to repeat his championship. However, they had better bring their lunch as they will have an all day job on their hands.

Danny Harris plans to repeat as Tire & Wheel Center super stock champion. However, there will be several other past champions trying to win another championship for themselves. However it works out, the fans will be in store to another great season long battle for the championship.

Don't miss the first lap on the race to the 2006 series championship. Plan to be with us on April 14 to see the best racing you'll see anywhere.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event, (children 7 - 12 $5, children 6 and under are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult); and pit admission is $20. Coolers are permitted; but glass containers aren't. Overnight camping is also permitted.
