Greg Anderson out in two at Houston, testing for Las Vegas

BAYTOWN, Texas (April 2, 2006) - Three-time Pro Stock NHRA POWERade 
champion and current 2006 point leader Greg Anderson lost to eventual 
runner-up Jim Yates in the quarterfinals at the 19th annual NHRA 
O'Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.
 

Anderson behind the wheel of his KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment 
Pro Stock Pontiac GTO turned back Greg Stanfield in the opening round of 
eliminations.  Against Stanfield, Anderson ran a 6.688-second pass to 
take the win.

Against Yates, Anderson was out first at the green light but slowed, 
running only a 6.776-second pass.  Yates raced to a win light in 6.713 
seconds.

"Once again we simply got beat," said Anderson.  "We've got to step back 
and look at what we're doing right and what we're doing wrong and what 
we can to make our program better.  It's a short week as we head to Las 
Vegas but we plan to stay and test before we head west.

Anderson leaves this event still leading the NHRA POWERade point 
standing.  He has 331 points, 34 points ahead of second.

Anderson and his KB Racing, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO moves 
directly to Las Vegas, home of team owner Ken Black, for the seven 
annual SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor 
Speedway.  The event, first of two held in Las Vegas, will be contested 
next weekend, April 6-9.

ESPN2 aired three hours of same-day television coverage of eliminations 
for the 19th annual NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Nationals on Sunday, April 
2.  The elimination show repeats early Wednesday morning (April 5) from 
2:30-4:30 a.m.  Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and subject to 
change at anytime.  Check local listings.

KB Racing LLC is owned by Las Vegas businessmen Ken Black and his son 
Kenny Black.  KB Racing LLC fields two Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock 
Pontiac GTOs, one driven by Greg Anderson and the other by Jason Line in 
the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Anderson has won three consecutive 
POWERade Pro Stock Championships (2003-2005).  Line finished third in 
the 2005 POWERade point standings and was honored with the 2004 
Automobile Club of Southern California Road to the Future award, 
presented to the most outstanding rookie in a professional category.  
This year KB Racing LLC also began fielding a Top Fuel Dragster, managed 
by Kalitta Motorsports, with rookie Top Fuel driver Hillary Will 
handling the driving duties.
