Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
The second event on the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule takes place on
April 15th in Lebanon, Tennessee. Dexter and his team headed to Nashville
earlier this week to get an idea of how they were going to run in the upcoming
race.
Bean went to Nashville on Tuesday along with 54 other competitors with two
Chevrolet Monte Carlos in the hauler planning to utilize the eight hour test
session to their advantage. The intent? Simply, which car would allow Dexter
the opportunity to score his first ARCA RE/MAX Series race in only his sixth
series start. After testing both cars, Dexter felt stronger and more
comfortable in the backup car on the 1.333-mile concrete oval.
The morning session started slower than anticipated. However, by the
afternoon Dexter and the car were performing very well. “Our best laps took place
in the afternoon,?? states Bean, who is currently one of 50 drivers in the Racin
’ for a Livin’ reality television program.
By the end of day Dexter had a very strong setup. In fact, Dexter’s time of
30.380 seconds at 157.604 MPH soared to ninth on the speed charts leaving the
team confident and focused leaning towards the PFG Lester 150.
Dexter says he has a really good feeling about the upcoming race. “We have
a strong car now and I’m confident we’ll be real strong come race weekend,
explained Dexter.??
As for Nashville, the Westby Wisconsin native will make his track debut in
two weeks. “The race track is great and they have a really nice facility in
Nashville. I was able to get used to the track really quickly and I am really
looking forward to racing again. It seems like it has been a long time since
my last race.??
The Nashville Superspeedway guitar trophy isn’t the only winning item he is
looking for. Dexter Bean has been given an opportunity of a lifetime.
Dexter, has been selected from over 1600 applicants for a soon to be reality
television show that awards the winner the chance to compete with the
