Manteca's Speed Returns to F1 Racing This Weekend

Manteca's Speed, Former Russell Racing Schools Star,

Returns to F1 This Weekend in Australia

SONOMA, Calif. (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) - Manteca native Scott Speed returns
to action this weekend in Formula One racing with the Australian Grand
Prix.

This marks the third race of the Formula One season for
Speed, a rookie, who teams with Vitantonio Liuzzi for Scuderia Toro
Rosso (Italian for Red Bull). Speed placed 13th in the season-opener in
Bahrain (March 12) and was 16th in Malaysia (March 19). Speed was forced
to retire in Malaysia on lap 41 of the 56-lap main event with a clutch
activation problem.

Speed began his open-wheel career at the Jim Russell Racing
Schools, which is based at Infineon Raceway. He was discovered at the
raceway in 2003 at the Red Bull American Formula One Driver Search by
legendary driver Danny Sullivan, who is also a Jim Russell Racing
Schools graduate.

The green flag will drop for the Australian Grand Prix at
7:30 p.m. on Saturday (Pacific) and will be broadcast live on SPEED.
Check your local listings this week for practice and qualifying coverage
on SPEED.

Race fans will get their first glimpse of Speed on American soil in F1
competition at the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis, July 2.
