Herta Finishes 13th in XM Satellite Radio Car at Homestead-Miami

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (March 26, 2006) - XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta dealt with a fuel
pressure issue before the race ever started and finished 13th at the Homestead-Miami Indy 300 Presented
by XM Satellite Radio, the first of 14 races on the 2006 Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series schedule.
As the field left pit road to begin the race, Herta's #7 car wouldn't run which resulted in the car
returning to the garage to repair the issue.  After pinpointing the fuel pressure problem, Herta returned to the
car, but was 28 laps down to the leaders.  Herta completed 140 laps, gaining several positions before a
collision with the wall ended his day.
Dan Wheldon won the race, followed by Helio Castroneves, Sam Hornish Jr., Dario Franchitti and
Scott Dixon.
The 2006 IndyCar Series season resumes on Sunday, April 2, from the streets of St. Petersburg,
Fla.  The green flag drops on the second-annual Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at 3:45 p.m. (EDT) with
ESPN providing live coverage of the event beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).  It can also be heard live by
XM Satellite Radio subscribers on XM channel 145.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I really don't know what happened. We were a long way down, so we were just trying to run laps
and pick up a few positions. I was hanging way back on the restart just to stay out of everybody's way. I went
into turn one and it just came around. I don't know if it was cold tires or the turbulence from the cars in front
or something else. I have no idea. The car hadn't behaved that way up to that point and it just caught me by
surprise.  Obviously I'm disappointed, but we're all thinking more about Paul Dana's family and friends and
Rahal Letterman Racing.  I've got a lot of friends on that team and I know they're hurting right now."

George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"Foremost in our thoughts is Paul Dana's family.  The day started off horrible and our thoughts are
with those close to him.  On the racing side, which is pretty insignificant right now, nothing went right for the
XM Satellite Radio team today.  It started with fuel pressure problems and us being 28 laps down.  We could
have finished as high as 11th if we would have finished running today, but he just lost it in turn one.  It's just
been a terrible day."
