Dexter Bean Heads To Rockford Looking To Triumph

WESTBY, Wisconsin (March 26, 2006) - - Avid late model competitor Dexter
Bean will head to the first event on the Wisconsin Challenge Series schedule
April 1-2 from Rockford Speedway. Dexter is looking to fool the rest of the
competition by dominating the race in his familiar No. 25 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
with primary sponsorship from longtime supporter and La Crosse, Wisconsin
based Five Star Telecom.
The opening WCS (Wisconsin Challenge Series) event at Rockford will be the
first time the series has ventured outside the state of Wisconsin. “I love
Rockford Speedway,?? explained Bean. “It is such a demanding track and the
Challenge Series here should be really exciting. For those who haven’t run at
Rockford Speedway before it won’t take them long to learn that you have to keep
your nose clean, be patient and can’t miss a beat. I am really looking
forward to the weekend of racing, getting back on a short track and I’m roaring
and ready to start the season off strong.??
My crew at the shop in Westby has prepared an excellent racecar and I know
it will perform well on the track. It will be a good show for the fans and I
think we have a good chance of winning the race.??
The win at Rockford isn’t the only victory Dexter is looking to add to his
resume. Last weekend, Dexter was selected from over 1,600 applicants to
participate in the Racin’ for a Livin’ reality television program. Voting begins
on March 28, 2006 where fans from across the globe can log onto to
_http://www.vote4dexter.com_ (http://www.vote4dexter.com/) and help send this rising
star to the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007. “I cannot express how excited I am
to be involved with this program,?? he said. “The fans are able to vote for
the next three months, 24 times a day, on the hour and I think we have a
realistic chance of making the top-12.??
Fellow Wisconsin native and NASCAR Busch Series driver Johnny Sauter made
the call to Dexter congratulating him on making the top-50. “I really thought
Johnny was kidding,?? recalled Dexter. “I didn’t think in a million years he
would call me and tell me that I was in, but it is something that I won’t
forget. He is probably one of my biggest supporters in this whole program and
I really appreciate it. Wouldn’t it be something if Johnny and I were
racing for the win next year???
Bean enjoys competing in the Wisconsin Challenge Series. Last season he ran
eight out of nine events rallying to an impressive eighth place in the final
championship point standings. The former NASCAR Elite division driver also
soared to victory in the WCS North American Cup 100 at Dells Motor Speedway
last July. While he won’t take a stab at the WCS championship this season,
Dexter will still compete in a limited schedule in addition to his full
championship bids for Rookie-of-the-Year and drivers championship in the ARCA RE/MAX
Series.
“ARCA is my main concern this season,?? stated the 19-year old young gun. “I
’m trying to gather as much seat time as possible in the heavier cars to
better prepare myself for my future in NASCAR. I’m going to give 150 percent
towards the Racin’ for a Livin’ program. However, if that doesn’t work, I’m
going to take every avenue possible to prove that I deserve to be competing
against the best of the best.??
