Troy Coughlin ready for season opener (NMCA/JEG'S)

T.C. ready to take care of business

Decorated drag racer Troy Coughlin will kick off his 2006 campaign April 7-9
at the season-opening Detroit Locker NMCA Hot Rod and Muscle Car Nationals
at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Central Florida. The event is the first of
seven on the National Muscle Car Association Pro Edelbrock schedule.

Coughlin will be driving his sleek '04 Jeg's Mail Order Chevrolet Cavalier
in the Denso Spark Plugs Pro Street category, the quickest and fastest class
of the six heads-up divisions contested at each NMCA event. The car is powered
by an 800 cubic-inch motor capable of recording 6.5-second elapsed times at
speeds in excess of 210 mph.

"I'm so excited that I've been literally bouncing off the walls since we
tested the car a few weeks back," Coughlin said. "I can't wait to strap myself
in and mash the gas. It's going to be a great weekend."

In testing earlier this month at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta,
Ga., Coughlin raced his Jerry Haas-built hot rod to a runner-up finish in an
impromptu Shootout test organizers put together. Prior to that event,
Coughlin's last outing in the Jeg's Mail Order Cavalier resulted in a $50,000 pay
day when he captured the title of the Big Dog Shootout in Piedmont, N.C.,
which was held in October of 2005.

"This car is a dream to drive," Coughlin said. "It went right down the track
every pass at Valdosta and each run was nice and straight like you want them
to be. I couldn't have more confidence in my racecar and team heading into
an event, let alone the season opener of a series like the NMCA."

Coughlin is scheduled to compete in all seven NMCA Pro Edelbrock events this
year so gathering championship points at each race is of paramount
importance. NMCA race organizers are expecting at least 20 Pro Street cars for this
event. The group will fill a 16-car elimination bracket during three rounds of
qualifying and race in a single-elimination format on Sunday to determine a
winner.

"All the best street legal racers will be there," Coughlin said. "As a
competitor, that's how you want it because when the weekend is over you want to
know that you raced against the very best drivers in the country. The NMCA does
a great job and we're excited to be bringing the Jeg's Mail Order race team
to Bradenton."

Gates open at noon Friday (April 7) and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday (April
8-9). For more information on the JEG'S Mail Order, please visit Jegs.com and
