CALIFORNIA DIRT FOCUS MIDGETS TRY SEASON OPENER AGAIN TOMORROW
HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A week after the USAC California Dirt Ford Focus Midget
Car Series was scheduled to make its season debut, the series will attempt
to make tomorrow’s event the first for 2006.
Rain won the first round in last weekend’s scheduled race at Ventura,
Calif., moving the season opener to tomorrow at Bakersfield, Calif.
Already, the title chase is wide open. Defending series champion Chase
Barber has moved to the USAC Western and Regional Midget Car Series, while
defending runner-up and third-place finishers Alex Harris and Audra Sasselli
are expected to continue their careers in other USAC divisions as well.
Tomorrow’s race will be held in conjunction with the USAC Western Midget Car
Series, which is running its second race of 2006.
