Spartan Chassis Recognizes Top Suppliers at Annual SPARC Awards

CHARLOTTE, Mich., March 23 -- More than 22 suppliers were honored last week at Spartan Chassis' annual SPARC Awards, which recognize those suppliers with scores in the top 1 percent for on-time deliveries, accuracy in shipping and receiving, cost control, technical support and defect-free products.

Spartan Chassis, Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, Inc., hosted the awards ceremony at its annual supplier conference, held March 16 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Mich.

At the event, Spartan presented its first-ever "Founder's Award" to Brookfield, Wis.-based Precision Cable Assemblies LLC as the supplier of the year. At the event, George Sztykiel, founder of Spartan Motors, presented the award to Precision Cable's management team. A number of suppliers have won SPARC awards several years in a row since the awards began in 2002.

"We continue to raise the bar for how we recognize our suppliers with the SPARC awards," said Richard Schalter, president of Spartan Chassis. "However, there were more winners this year than in the previous year, a reflection of our suppliers' commitment to continuous improvement. We want to thank all of our suppliers for their role in Spartan's success."
