Update Related to Incident at Takata Seat Belt Facility on Wiseman Blvd.
SAN ANTONIO, March 20 -- The following is an update related to incident at Takata Seat Belt Facility on Wiseman Blvd.:
At 10:57 p.m. Sunday, a significant accident occurred in our seat belt facility on Wiseman Boulevard in San Antonio, Texas.
We have been in contact with OSHA and are currently evaluating the specific cause of the accident. Operations have been shut down and all employees sent home. Our top priority is the safety and well being of all employees and individuals at the facility, and we have dedicated all of our immediate resources to that area.
EMS and Fire Responded rapidly to the facility last evening and have been an enormous help. First responders remain on site to evaluate the condition of the building and confirm safety conditions.
Currently, we have one serious injury confirmed.
Out of respect for the family, and until additional information can be determined, we are not publicly releasing the name of the injured individual.
