Prism's Broadcast Engineering and WardsAuto.com Named as Winners in ''Best of the Web'' Competition

NEW YORK--March 20, 2006--Prism Business Media Inc., a leader in business-to-business communication and information, today announced that its Broadcast Engineering(R) family of e-newsletters and WardsAuto.com Web site have been selected as winners in the 2006 "Best of the Web" awards competition, conducted by min and min's b2b. WardsAuto.com was named as the winner of the B2B editorial excellence category, while Broadcast Engineering's multiple offerings won the B2B e-mail newsletter division for the second consecutive year. The awards program, which drew almost 200 entries, recognizes the best Web sites and Web programs of consumer and business-to-business magazine publishers. Judges for the Best of the Web awards included consumer and b2b magazines executives, digital media consultants, and members of the min editorial team.

WardsAuto.com bested finalists Variety.com and BusinessWeek Online and also received an honorable mention award in the B2B premium Web site category. In recognizing the site, the judging panel said "More than a must-read, Ward's is the news and opinion feed for a central piece of the U.S. economy. It rises to the challenge with content that is both authoritative and intriguing. WardsAuto.com provides a mix of solid reporting and breaking news with in-depth analysis.

"WardsAuto.com also stands out among all B2B brands in its embrace of new media delivery mechanisms. Reversing the typical relationship between offline and online platforms, WardsAuto.com and its digital distribution service now form the brand's core assets. Stories appear online first and then migrate to print. Detroit may be having trouble charting a route into the future, but the brand that covers it best clearly sees where its own B2B publishing industry is headed."

The judging panel selected Broadcast Engineering's growing array of e-newsletters, each of which features all-original content, as winners again in this year's competition. The targeted e-newsletters cover topics ranging from HDTV and IPTV technology, to sports broadcasting and industry news. Collectively, the 14 e-newsletters generate almost 14 million reader impressions and reach a global audience of more than 45,000 industry professionals. The e-newsletters were recognized for their success in balancing informative graphics with a quick-reading format, as well as for their delivery of unique information rather than repackaged magazine material. Each e-newsletter offers targeted information to its intended audience, while extending and reinforcing the Broadcast Engineering brand and worldwide recognition of the publication as an industry leader.

The Broadcast Engineering brand family serves corporate management, engineers/technicians and other management personnel at commercial and public TV stations, post-production and recording studios, broadcast networks, cable, telephone and satellite production centers and networks.

WardsAuto.com provides professionals in the automotive industry with news, data and analysis on topics vital to their companies and to them individually. As a leading publisher of auto industry information since 1924, Ward's created WardsAuto.com as its online portal for trusted reporting and analysis that its readership expects. WardsAuto.com has previously been recognized by the American Society of Business Press Editors as "Best New Web Publication" of 2002. In addition, the site swept the online reporting category (First, Second, Third place plus Honorable Mention) of the prestigious International Wheel Awards, the top honors bestowed upon automotive journalists.
