Greg Anderson captures 3rd No. 1 of season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 18, 2006) -Greg Anderson held the top spot
through all four qualifying sessions at 37th annual NHRA ACDelco
Gatornationals, claiming the 43rd No. 1 position of his career.

Anderson drove his KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock
Pontiac GTO to an elapsed time of 6.637 seconds at 207.51 mph for his
third consecutive No. 1 of the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

Green or no green on St. Patrick's Day, with the temperatures
approaching 80 degrees, Anderson started the opening day of qualifying
on top, running passes of 6.681 seconds in the first qualifying session
and a 6.664-second pass in the second.

"Although the fuel cars seem to be having trouble with the track, as far
as the Pro Stock cars are concerned the track is good," said Anderson,
following Friday's two qualifying sessions. "We underestimated the
track on the first run and were a little too safe. We made a couple of
changes and picked up some in the second pass."

With Saturday a few degrees cooler, Anderson unloaded a surprising 6.637
seconds elapsed time at over 207 mph in the first qualifying session of
the day. He finished qualifying running a pass of 6.637 seconds in the
heat of the day.

"We love Gainesville (Raceway)," said Anderson. "We lick our chops when
we come here. It's a great race track and the weather has been
beautiful. The starting line has been a little bit tricky due to the
hot weather. If we can catch a little break and get some cloud cover
tomorrow, we can run some record times."

In tomorrow's opening round, Anderson will square off against Dave
Howard, who qualified No. 16 with a time of 6.701 seconds at 206.28
mph. From Anderson's 6.637 to Howard's 6.701, it was the quickest field
in NHRA Pro Stock history.

Anderson begins his quest for the Gatornationals Pro Stock title on
