Moller International Partners with Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne to Produce New High Efficiency Diesel Rotary Engine
DAVIS, CA - March 16, 2006: Moller International, Inc. (OTCBB:MLER.OB), is pleased to announce that it has formed a strategic alliance with Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne to jointly develop the Moller International (MI) compound rotary engine. As the newest addition to the Rotapower engine product line, we believe these engines would be ideal for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications.
MI's patent pending design has the potential to lower fuel consumption by over 30% while achieving a substantial increase in the engine's power to weight ratio. MI (www.moller.com) has licensed Freedom Motors to produce its Rotapower(R) engines for non-aviation applications and intends to use this advanced design in its Skycar(R) aircraft where it may lead to an increase in range and payload.
Moller International
Moller International was formed in 1983 and is the developer of the roadable Skycar(R) aircraft, a four-person Vertical Takeoff and Landing Vehicle (VTOL) currently undergoing initial flight-testing. The aircraft uses the Company's Rotapower(R) rotary engine designed specifically for compact, high power-to-weight applications. We believe the Skycar(R) has the potential to provide an airborne alternative to a significant portion of the miles now traveled by automobiles.
The Skycar(R) has been featured on a number of TV programs including CBS 60 Minutes, "Highway In the Sky", NBC's Today Show "Today's American Story", and History Channel's, "Greatest Movie Gadgets: Then and Now."
