Reid Arnold preps for 2006 Sunoco Ron Fellows
Karting Championship
Top Canadian in Mini Max on Florida Winter Tour

Keswick, Ontario - March 15, 2006 – Reid Racing has just completed their first Florida Winter Tour series on a high note and are now making preparations to contest the 2006 Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship (SRFKC) series. Ten year old Reid Arnold, the 2005 SRFKC Canada Jr. Light Champion, is looking forward to defending his title. The Keswick, Ontario native will also be competing in the new F1-K Cadet class featuring 60 cc Maxter engines.

“I can’t wait for the season to start.?? offers Reid in a recent interview. “It was a lot of fun racing in the Sunoco Ron Fellows series last year and great to win a championship.?? Anne Arnold, manager of Reid Racing added, “Reid and the team learned a lot over last season in this series. Ron Fellows has not only supported everyone's efforts, but offered encouragement throughout the year. This is important for young drivers like Reid.??

But the off-season was not about waiting. Reid and the team headed to the Florida Winter Tour where he raced with the team from Goodwood Kartsport in the Mini Max class. It was a big learning curve for Reid and dad George, his tuner/mechanic, as they made the move to two-cycle racing. “It is different and it took some time to get used to how the kart reacts,?? noted Reid “and we had some problems getting the setup where it needed to be.?? A top-ten result on the first race weekend was encouraging, but there was not always enough testing time at the unfamiliar tracks. The team ended the series with another top-ten result (6th at Ocala) and finished 9th overall in points out of 44 competitors. Reid also completed the series as the top Canadian in Mini Max.

According to Anne, “One thing we learned is how close the competition will be in the SRFKC F1-K series. In our final Mini Max race on the Florida Tour, the top 11 places were within 1/10 of a second and we anticipate it will be the same here as the season moves forward.?? She went on to note, “now that we have some experience and with the support of Dan and Marco at Goodwood Kartsport, our hope is for Reid to have a successful run this year.??

With the first SRFKC event only eight weeks away, Reid and the team will be planning lots of practice sessions and competing at club events. Reid understand the value of seat time. Reid stated, “I want to thank Ron Fellows, Sunoco, Paul Cooke and ASN Canada and all the other supporters of the series for their hard work and making this an important series for karters.?? He continued, “I hope to have a good season and have many opportunities to talk more with Ron.??

Reid is grateful for the continuing support of sponsors, Design Performance, Vubiz, Markham Offset, Mothersill Printing and Trade Letterpress and is thrilled to announce the addition of Point One Graphics, BCW Bindery Services and TD Waterhouse Private Client Services to the list.
