Directed Electronics, Inc. Announces Date Change of Fourth Quarter 2005 Conference Call

VISTA, Calif., March 16 -- Directed Electronics, Inc. , the largest designer and marketer of consumer branded vehicle security and convenience systems in the United States based on sales and a major supplier of home audio, mobile audio and video, and satellite radio products, announced today that its quarterly conference call would be moved to March 30th from March 16, 2006. The postponement will allow the Company additional time to complete its year-end closing process, its first as a public company, and allow its independent auditors sufficient time to complete their work.

The Company's earnings conference call is now scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EST (2:00 p.m. PST) on March 30, 2006. It will be broadcast live over the Internet hosted in the Investor Relations section of the Company's website at www.directed.com and will be archived online within three hours after completion of the call.
