Transnational Automotive Initiates Urban Transportation Contract with Cameroon Government
SEATTLE--March 15, 2006--Transnational Automotive Group, Inc. ("TAUG") (OTCBB:TAMG) has begun implementation of an Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Cameroon to provide urban bus transportation to cities throughout the country ("Agreement"). Under the terms of the Agreement, a newly formed Cameroonian corporation, Parker Transnational Industries - Cameroon, SARL ("PTI-C") was established to operate the bus system. PTI-C is owned 66% by TAUG and 34% by the City of Yaounde and the Cameroon Ministry of Hydrocarbons.Cameroonian urbanites have been without urban bus transportation for over 15 years. Under the terms of the Agreement signed on October 12, 2005, TAUG will initially provide bus service in the capitol city of Yaounde, and then subsequently provide service in the port city of Douala followed by similar service in other urban centers.
TAUG COO Don Durand outlined the progress to date saying, "We have received $1 million USD from the Government of Cameroon as part of their $1.8 million USD capital commitment to PTI-C. The city of Yaounde has also delivered to us the Yaounde city bus depot and office building used by the previous bus operator. The depot is currently being renovated and prepared to service the new bus fleet. The bus depot and office building have an estimated value of $5.5M USD."
Mr. Durand also commented, "The Agreement specifies that the government will contribute other significant urban properties to PTI-C, which will further enhance the underlying asset value of the venture. TAUG's efforts have been met by excellent cooperation from the Government of Cameroon and the City Government of Yaounde. The people of Cameroon have been overwhelmingly positive and supportive of TAUG's efforts, and our workers have done a magnificent job renovating the depot."
