PITTSBURGH--March 14, 2006--Alcoa :TO: Assignment Editors, Business Editors, Automotive Reporters WHAT: Ferrari and Alcoa will hold a joint press conference for business and automotive reporters WHERE: Alcoa Corporate Center, 201 Isabella Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 WHEN: 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 WHY: Ferrari and Alcoa, the exclusive designer of Ferrari spaceframes, will present future Ferrari designs as part of a traveling exhibition of 20 quarter-scale models that is touring the world as part of the Ferrari "New Concepts of the Myth" design competition. Alcoa sponsored the competition with Ferrari as a way to involve automotive design students at the most prestigious automotive design schools around the globe to creatively consider what the next generation of aluminum-intensive Ferraris might become. All current Ferrari spaceframes are designed by Alcoa design engineers at Alcoa Technical Center in Upper Burrell. Ferrari and Alcoa recently announced the formation of a long-term strategic partnership focused on creating advanced aluminum spaceframe technology for future generations of Ferrari vehicles. Alcoa Corporate Center is the first stop that the future Ferrari quarter-scale models will make in North America.
