Mitsubishi Stops Production of Raider

Washington DC March 13, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that Mitsubishi is halting production of the Raider pickup model amid slow sales resulting in a larger than normal supply, reports Automotive News. "We have adjusted the orders of Raider because we have too many in inventory," said Rich Gilligan, co-CEO of Mitsubishi North America. "So we will watch it over the next four to six months, and that will determine how we will go forward with ordering." Gilligan added that he is not sure when production would resume and hopes incentives, such as the $3,000 dealer cash offered in February, will spark sales.
