Cadence Innovation Names New General Counsel

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., March 13 -- The appointment of Stuart H. Kupinsky as General Counsel at Cadence Innovation, LLC was announced here today by Jerry L. Mosingo, President and Chief Executive Officer.

"Stuart's extensive background, in both public service and the private sector, brings a unique balance to Cadence Innovation's global enterprise," said Mosingo. "Stuart's record on competitive, legal and technical issues is first rate and will certainly add the required expertise to the Cadence Innovation leadership team."

Following his tenure as an associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington D.C., Stuart spent three years addressing antitrust and regulatory issues for the Federal Communications Commission and the United States Department of Justice, including the implementation of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the investigation of substantial corporate mergers.

After joining Teligent, Inc. in 1997 and ultimately being named its General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Senior Vice President, Stuart was responsible for overseeing the company's legal and restructuring processes, and was eventually elected to the company's board of directors.

Following Teligent, Inc., Stuart was named General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary for Exide Technologies, a $2.7 billion public manufacturing company operating in 89 countries. At Exide, Kupinsky's executive responsibilities included managing the legal aspects of the company's restructuring and emergence from Chapter 11, substantial litigation, intellectual property, government and commercial contracting, M&A and joint ventures. "Stuart's distinguished accomplishments not only highlight his extensive, and relevant experience, but set him apart from others in his field," Mosingo said.

Stuart received a Juris Doctorate with Honors from George Washington University Law School in l992. He was a member of the George Washington Law Review, and following law school, clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. Stuart is a member of the Maryland and Washington, D.C. bars.
