FIELDS SET FOR SUNDAY ELIMINATIONS AT ORLANDO SPEED WORLD DRAGWAY
ORLANDO, Fla. - Qualifying is complete at Orlando Speed World
Dragway's NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.
Dave Layer (Dayton, Ohio) held on to his top qualifying position in Super
Stock with a 10.224-second run in his 1987 Camaro and Greg Rowe (Bridgeton,
N.C.) remained in the top spot in Stock Eliminator driving his 1991 Camaro
with an 11.292-second pass. In Comp Eliminator, Glen Treadwell (Sorrento,
Fla.) displaced David Rampy (Piedmont, Ala.) to be the No. 1 qualifier with
an 8.313-second effort in his dragster. Ronnie Davis (Suwanee, Ga.) overtook
Mike Gardner (Haymarket, Va.) for first place in Top Sportsman, making a
6.744-second, 211.31 mph pass in his 1963 Corvette.
Racing continues Sunday at Orlando Speed World Dragway. Gates open at gates
open at 8 a.m. and eliminations start at 9 a.m. Tickets are $25 and
children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. For more
