The Tire Rack(r) SCCA ProSolo National Series Makes 2006 Debut

at Fontana This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (March 10, 2006) - Mirrored courses, Christmas tree starts
and the popular Hawk Super Challenge make their season debut at
California Motor Speedway as the Tire Rack(r) SCCA ProSolo National
Series begins its season in Fontana, Calif. this weekend.

A host of recognizable names are on the docket for Fontana, including
several who that already picked up class wins in the early part of the
Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour.

Among those who will help usher in the new ProSolo season is Scott
McHugh, of Santa Clarita, Calif. McHugh, in his Kumho/MC Racing 1989
Chevrolet Corvette, took A Stock last weekend at the San Diego National
Tour and he very well could be A Stock's top representative when the
32-competitor, single-elimination bracket Hawk Super Challenge gets
underway Sunday afternoon.

A pair of women will compete for the top spot in B Stock this weekend.
Jennifer Isley, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., (Kumho Motorsports/Mazda 2005
Mazda RX-8) and Barbara Leroy-Boehme, of San Diego, Calif., (Kumho 2004
Mazda RX-8) will take on each other and a very competitive class as
solid shoes like San Diego National Tour B Stock winner Joe Goeke, of
Kirkland, Wash. (Team Butt Heat! 2005 Mazda RX-8) and Jennifer's
husband, Jason Isley, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., will be formidable
opponents.

Ryan Buetzer, of Long Beach, Calif., is also coming off of a class win
in San Diego, where he handily took the C Stock win in his 1999 Mazda
Miata. While he was able to get that win by almost two seconds, this
weekend could be a different story for the young gun as others such as
Darrin DiSimo, of Coral Springs, Fla., (1999 Miata) have entered into
the mix for the first ProSolo.

Any number of Soloists could emerge as B Street Prepared winner, like
Jim Daniels, of Gladstone, Ore., and Ron Bauer, of Bellevue, Wash., who
will co-drive the Kumho/Team RH/Team Butt Heat 1994 Miata against
top-flight competition in the form of Eric Clements, of Alta Loma,
Calif. (1999 Miata) and George Doganis, of Lakeside, Calif.
(Dino's/Racing Beat/Goodwin/AWR 1994 Miata), among others.

The Honda Street Challenge is back in 2006, ready to honor the
top-finishing street class car in the Hawk Super Challenge. Among the
street classes, several potential Honda Street Challenge winners are in
Street Touring S, where successful Ladies' class competitors Katie
Elder, of Folsom, Calif. (Bilstein/H.A.P./America's Tire of Orangevale
1989 Honda Civic Si), and Leslie Cohen, of Encinitas, Calif. (Leslie
Cohen Design 1989 Honda Civic Si), have jumped into the Open class
waters and will take on 12 other competitors including Jason Rhoades, of
San Diego, Calif., who will be very competitive in his
Yokohama/ProPartsUSA 1992 Nissan 240SX.

Though Elder and Cohen will compete in Open class competition, the
Ladies' classes are far from bare. In fact, they are loaded.

Mary Medicus, of Lafayette, Colo. (Advanced Spine/Built-By-Bones 2005
Mini Cooper S); Meredith Brown, of Los Alamos, N.M. (Isotope
Wheels/Automotive Professionals 1993 Toyota MR2); Annie Bauer, of
Renton, Wash. (2005 Mini Cooper S); Dawn Maxwell, of Phoenix, Ariz.
(2005 Mini Cooper); and Jodi Fordahl, of Bremerton, Wash. (Fordahl
Motorsports/Hoosier 1984 Porsche 944) have crammed into a 12-entry
Ladies 1 class, which is so loaded with talent that one of the drivers
who doesn't win the class could very well go on to win the Ladies
Challenge.

The same can be said concerning Ladies 2, where another slew of drivers
will duke it out.  Elise Sias, of Santa Clara, Calif. (2002 BMW M3);
Patty Tunnell, of Superior, Colo. (BimmerHaus Performance 1995 BMW M3);
Christine Berry, of Alta Loma, Calif. (Kumho/USA Mortgage Corp./Berry
Family Racing 1996 Chevrolet Camaro) and Teresa Neidel-McKee, of San
Jose, Calif. (SiasTuning/A.R.E./7parts.com 1993 Mazda RX-7) lead the
impressive class and if any of these drivers emerge as Ladies Challenge
Champion, no one would be surprised.

The first cars are expected off at California Motor Speedway at 9:15
a.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. Sunday. The Hawk Super Challenge, which
will pit all class winners plus wildcard entries against one another in
a single-elimination, bracket format, is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday.
