ITW Purchases CamAir Corp. Trademarks and Patents
GLENVIEW, Ill., March 10 -- Illinois Tools Works Inc. has announced the purchase of certain trademarks and patents of Lancaster, NY-based CamAir Corp. ITW's DeVilbiss Automotive Refinishing business unit (Maumee, OH) will become the exclusive manufacturer of CamAir branded products.
CamAir has developed several unique drying controls for compressed air. The products, such as the TS and CT series of desiccant dryers are used in body shops, paint facilities and other aftermarket repair installations throughout North America.
"We view this acquisition as a great way to help our customers deliver and maintain clean air capable of producing high quality automotive finishes," says Tom White, General Manager of DeVilbiss Automotive Refinishing. "When selecting air drying equipment, paint shops now have a broader choice of features to fit their economic environment."
DeVilbiss Automotive Refinishing will become the sole source for CamAir drying systems, service parts and desiccant re-fills. The two companies had established a marketing agreement at the end of 2004.
DeVilbiss Automotive Refinishing, an Illinois Tool Works company, manufactures DeVilbiss, Binks and FinishLine branded spray guns, CamAir air controls and accessories and is based in Maumee, Ohio.
