President & CEO, U.S. Steel Corporation to Discuss Steel Industry Present and Future

DETROIT, March 10 -- On Monday, March 13, 2006, the Detroit Economic Club (DEC) will host President & CEO John Surma, Jr. of United States Steel Corporation, a major manufacturer of steel products and the largest integrated steel producer in the United States. The meeting will be held at noon at the Troy Marriott, Troy, MI. A press gathering will immediately follow the luncheon.

Surma's address, titled, "Staying Competitive in Turbulent Times: A Global Snapshot," will discuss steel's vital, reciprocal relationship with the automotive industry and the keys to remain a competitive, sustainable, quality supplier in good economic times and bad.
