STaSIS Engineering to Campaign Three Audis in 2006 SCCA SPEED Touring Car

SONOMA, Calif. (March 7, 2006) - STaSIS Engineering has announced that it will campaign three Audi A4 racecars for all 10 rounds of the 2006 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship.

Coming off a season-ending win at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2005, STaSIS representatives said that the team's 2006 goals are championship driven, with three cars in its lineup for the entire year, plus having great confidence in its equipment and abilities.

The STaSIS driver lineup includes "Fast" Freddy Baker, who returns to again compete in the Audi A4 Turbo. Baker has had great success in various series from Trans Am to World Challenge. Alongside Baker will be rookie Jeff Courtney, of Slinger, Wis., who won the 2005 Panoz Racing series championship. STaSIS' third driver will be announced shortly.

"The level of competition will be strong, and we have stepped up our program in every way to ensure that we are contenders for the top spot on the podium," STaSIS Owner Paul Lambert said. "We have added new, talented crew members to the fold, building on our team from last year. Aiding in our quest for success, our technical partners, Mahle Powertrain (formerly Cosworth Technologies), Alcon and Ohlins are all on board again with us. We are anticipating a great season in 2006."

STaSIS will begin the 2006 SPEED World Challenge Touring Car season March 15-17 at Sebring International Raceway, where the team will run a new Audi A4 alongside two other Audi A4s that ran last season at both Sebring and St. Petersburg.

Those two previously-run cars will be replaced at the May 19-21 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course event, where STaSIS will debut two 2006 Audi A4 racecars. All STaSIS cars will be powered by the Mahle 1.8T engine that powered their race win at Laguna Seca in 2005.
