SRLA enables at-risk middle and high school students to realize their potential, enhance their self-esteem and plot a new course for their future by training for and completing the 26.2-mile L.A. Marathon. In addition to this year's Marathon Survival Fit Kits, every year American Honda donates more than 4,000 pairs of shoes to the 2,000-plus SRLA students.
YES-PAL is a bike safety program for at-risk students that uses police officers as mentors. The students awarded bicycles were selected by YES-PAL for recognition because of their significant academic perseverance, physical fitness accomplishments and commitment to responsible cycling. The state-of- the-art bicycles, donated by Acura, will pave the way for students to participate in the Acura L.A. Bike Tour.
