DENSO Announces Four-wheel Motor Sport Sponsorship for 2006
TOKYO, March 6 -- DENSO Corporation today announced its four- wheel motor sports sponsorship plan for the 2006 season. DENSO will continue to sponsor teams in motor sports including Formula 1 and World Rally Championship.
"We participate in the sponsorship of motor sports to improve our name recognition and corporate image around the world," said Michio Fukuzaki, DENSO senior managing director responsible for the Sales Group. "Also, the experience in developing products for racing cars, which drive under extreme conditions, has contributed in our development for advanced technologies."
DENSO's sponsorships include: * Formula 1 (F1)
DENSO will continue to support Panasonic Toyota Racing as a corporate sponsor for the third consecutive season. DENSO will also continue to supply spark plugs, radiators, oil-coolers and alternators to the F1 car.
In addition to the engine cover, driver helmet, and uniform, the DENSO logo will appear on the upper-side of the entry duct of the side pontoon, and around the neckwear of uniforms starting this season.
* World Rally Championship (WRC)
DENSO will continue to support the Subaru World Rally Team as a corporate sponsor for the third consecutive season. DENSO will also continue to supply spark plugs and sensors for the engine management system of the WRC car.
In addition to the DENSO logo appearing on the front fender, "Iridium Power," the product brand name for spark plugs, will be added to the rear pillar starting this season.
DENSO has sponsored motor sports since the early 1970s. In addition to four-wheel motor sports, DENSO sponsors teams and riders in two-wheel motor sports.
