Tokyo, Mar 6, 2006 (JCN) - DENSO Corporation today announced its four-wheel motor sports sponsorship plan for the 2006 season. DENSO will continue to sponsor teams in motor sports including Formula 1 and World Rally Championship.

DENSO Senior Managing Director Michio Fukuzaki was quoted as saying, "We participate in the sponsorship of motor sports to improve our name recognition and corporate image around the world. Also, the experience in developing products for racing cars, which drive under extreme conditions, has contributed in our development for advanced technologies."

DENSO's sponsorships include Formula 1 (F1) and World Rally Championship (WRC).

Formula 1 (F1)

In addition to acting as a corporate sponsor for the third consecutive season, DENSO will continue to support Panasonic Toyota Racing through the supply of spark plugs, radiators, oil-coolers and alternators to the F1 car. The DENSO logo will appear on the engine cover, driver helmet, uniform, and upper-side of the entry duct of the side pontoon. Beginning this season, the logo will also appear around the neckwear of uniforms.

World Rally Championship (WRC)

DENSO will also continue to support the Subaru World Rally Team as a corporate sponsor, again for the third consecutive season. DENSO will also continue to supply spark plugs and sensors for the engine management system of the WRC car. In addition to the DENSO logo appearing on the front fender, "Iridium Power," the brand name for DENSO spark plugs, will be added to the rear pillar beginning this season.

DENSO's sponsorship of motor sports began in the early 1970s and extends to teams and riders in two-wheel motor sports, in addition to four-wheel motor sports.
